Raymarine E80 Classic STng Connection what data are we suppose to get?

Hello,

Hopefully someone with some detailed RM knowledge can help.

We are in the process of upgrading the systems on our Beneteau Oceanis 411 Celebration.

Phase 1 - Complete

Install a new STng backbone and bridge the ST1 and STng networks via the 400G Course Computer and a ST1 to STng convertor. All works. All data available on the new STng network.

Phase 2 - In progress but stuck!

RM makes a special cable to plug the E80 directly into the STng network. Cable works but no AIS on the E80. If we disconnect the old ST1 connection and the NMEA connections from the E80 we do get the instrument data on the E80 via the STng connection but no AIS data. We seem to only be able to get AIS via a HS NMEA connection into the E80. We can see the AIS targets via a new I70 MFD so we know it is on the STng network.

Is this a config issue on the E80. We can't seem to find anything relevant in the 2 E80 manuals.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Assuming the E80 is the same as my old E120, it has no code to read AIS from the STng network. It will only get AIS via a HS NMEA connection into the E80.
