Raymarine guard zone alarm question.

I like the feature to set up AIS guard zones and radar guard zones while sailing offshore, however they are annoying and also dangerous.

When a target enters the zone the alarm rings, you can confirm it, then 5 seconds later it rings again, you confirm it and the game goes on for an hour until the target leaves the area. Instead of watching the traffic, zooming in or accessing the AIS data to see what it is, ackqire the target to get speed and direction, the UI is blocked by pop up messages and you are busy clicking pop up windows away instead of having outlook at the traffic.

Why cant one confirm the message, saying, OK, Ive got it, I'll take care, dont notify me again on this target, but keep watching for others.

The only optio of freing the UI is to disable the zones until the target passes by and leaves the sector or zone, again leaving you vulnerableto other targets that might enter in the mean time.

Is the system toostupid or am I too stupid to silence the alarm the right way? Or is it a Raymarine only problem?

Re: Raymarine guard zone alarm question.

Re: Raymarine guard zone alarm question.

Not sure about the Raymarine but I have the exact same complaint about the B&G Zeus 3 setup. I wish I could say “I acknowledge for this ship” and it would go away until that ship leaves my area but would remain active for other new threats. Seems obvious, no?
