Raymarine International warranty?

I am considering buying a Raymarine chart plotter E7. Prices of course are much cheaper in the US but does anyone know if the warranty is valid in Australia if I purchase the unit overseas?

Re: Raymarine International warranty?

Can not comment on the land down under however here in Canada the distributor for raymarine is Ester Line CMC Electronics, they refuse to do any warranty work on any Raymarine Product that is not purchased in Canada from their distrubtion system,

Many people, including the author, feel Raymarine should have the warranty honored worldwide, I have personally spoken to raymarine about this issue however all I got was a run around.

It may be different now that FLIR is the parent, as an example I emailed them about a broken plastic case on my AIS250, all I wanted to do was buy a new cover however they said they would mail me a new case no charge, Good service so perhaps the future is looking better.

That's not right ray marine have a global warranty for several years. It states so clearly on their website.

That may be the case, Dave, but here in Oz they have not honoured that warranty for US purchased items in the past. Would be nice if that changed, it might even improve their abysmal reputation here. I for one ain't holding my breath... been burned by them too many times.

Cheers,

Jim

Re: Raymarine International warranty?

Well well well, perhaps things are better at Raymarine these days, I emailed them last week about a broken plastic case on my AIS, seemed they knew there was an issue, two days ago I received via courier ( I am in Canada) a new case at no charge, I was more than willing to purchase it however their service level on this one was over the top, maybe good things to come with FLIR as the parent.
