Raymarine ST40 Log displays 99999, reset impossible

Today my total log reads 99999, yesterday it still was 3541,3.
I tried the Dealer calibration procedure for a factory reset as indicated in the ST40 owners handbook and referred to on the Raymarine forum.
I tried at least a dozen times but cannot seem to get a factory reset.
Anybody had the same problem?

ooops

Our speedo went nuts some time ago. It came back when I left it depowered for a week or so. Static electricty perhaps.

BTW read into the manual if the number might have some 'error code' meaning?

Re: Raymarine ST40 Log displays 99999, reset impossible

A few years back I had an ST60 go around 99999 for real and it stuck there. According to Raymarine it was a bug, not many boats go over 100,000 it seems. They said it couldn't be reset the 'trip' still worked and about 12,000 miles later the whole thing reset and started working again.

On the same boat we have rolled over later models of the log and it works fine

We are now 6 years later. Am I still the only one with this bug on the display? It is still there ☹️
