Raymarine ST50+ wind calibration

I have a Raymarine ST50 plus wind, After working on the top mast that required it to be dismantled and then reconnected I had to adjust the indicated wind direction since it has almost 30º of error towards port. The model has two lower buttons, the one on the left (true/app) and the one on the right (< / >). In the usual standard model, the button on the left the button on the left is labeled CALand by pressing it for a few seconds you enter the adjustment of the wind direction with the other button, and you may change the wind angle direction. But with this model that does not happen. I have been unable to get a response from the local Raymarine salesperson, he only says… “it is very old… change to a new model”, Could someone tell me how to do it please? The ST50 plus has been working perfectly for years¡¡¡.

Re: Raymarine ST50+ wind calibration

Hi,
Raymarine has pretty good manual library under Support on their web page. There is also a manual for ST50 Wind instrument under Retired manuals -> English -> ST50

Re: Raymarine ST50+ wind calibration

The alignment procedure is as following:
- push and hold CAL button until CO is displayed on LCD
- adjust using rocker button to the correct wind angle
- push and hold CAL button for 2 seconds to save and exit.

According to manuals it should be same for 50 and 50+

If that doesn't work there may be a problem with your instrument.

Re: Raymarine ST50+ wind calibration

Thank you very much for your interest, this is what manual says... but it is not working with that model with the two described buttons. It works with the ST50 with left button CAL. Best regards. JM

Re: Raymarine ST50+ wind calibration

You could try to push and hold two buttons simultaneously to enter the calibration mode. But may be not as the one on the right is a toggle?

Can you supply the photo of your wind instrument? Can't quite figure out what it is.

Re: Raymarine ST50+ wind calibration

Thanks. It sure looks like 50+ except different markings for the buttons.

I would suspect the instrument being faulty. Does the "left" button function at all? Can you change illumination or switch between the apparent and true wind? It may be a faulty button.
