Raymarine ST60+ Wind Problem

We had a very rolly night and the boom crashed across a couple of times (Traveller cam cleats let go). Anyway I don't know if it was the cause, but I noticed the Wind indicator was about 60 deg out, and moving very sluggish. I dug out the manual and recalibrated wind angle, but it was obvious that it was only near correct in one quarter.

When we had calm conditions, we did the power up, two circles procedure. According to the manual, it should give 3 dashes and beep. We have done this procedure about 3 or 4 times and can't get no beep.

Any ideas?

Second, does anyone hace experience with an NMEA/Seatalk interface so that I can get true wind direction?

Check the connections at the base of the mast. A fault here would produce the symptoms you describe and is likely to be easy to fix.
The St60 will not calculate true wind from SOG via NMEA from the GPS.
If you can supply some more details of the equipment you are tiring to connect to the wind it would help
