Raymarine type 2

Hi all I'm hoping someone has removed the drive sprocket from a type 2 linear drive motor.
The exploded diagram says that it should be fitted with loctite 602 bearing retainer, this requires alot of heat to remove and I'm concerned about heat transfer into the motor.
I'd be most grateful to hear from someone who has replaced this part.
Raymarine have not been at all helpful, saying that it's not something they would attempt, this is a plastic part on a steel shaft, their answer was by a new motor. Yet they sell the part.
End of rant
Cheers

Re: Raymarine type 2

Seems I must be the first to strike this problem, so I'll report back as I progress.
