Recommended 12V USB-C chargers

Saw couple on Ebay or so, they seem to top at 40W or so. Which is nearly fine - MacBook idles at around 20W, but I'd like to overprovision - turns out I can daisy-chain charge my partner's MacBook if need to.

p.s. most chargers are cigarette lighter shape which I hate with passion. Anyone saw one with proper leads?

Re: Recommended 12V USB-C chargers

Just nip off the male cigarette lighter adaptor and wire on the connector of your choice.

My boat was originally wired with 2 prong 12V outlets, which are a much better solution than using a cigarette lighter artifact.

Most pluggable electronics on my boat have been converted to 2 pin, but unfortunately the cigarette lighter adaptor is so common that Ive also built a 2 pin to cig adaptor cable for when needed.

Re: Recommended 12V USB-C chargers

I have replaced a couple of my 110 outlets on the boat with an outlet from HD that has usb and usb C sockets in addition to the standard 110 plugs- obviously only good if running the genny or the inverter but handy. they do not appear to utilize any current when in the standby mode with nothing plugged into them

Re: Recommended 12V USB-C chargers

Ended up getting this one:
https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MPP...WhiteDual-Port

Looking at fine print it actually delivers around 27W tops (12Vx2.25A). Tried on my MBP and iStat reported around 25W which probably going to be enough for my most use cases (right now it idles at just around 6W which blows my mind a bit).

I also managed to find these, which are much better fit, but tops at 18W: https://www.dhgate.com/product/12v-2...439331484.html

IIRC MacBook's can charge via multiple cables, so from some POV you can get couple of these and charge that way. Haven't found "real" marine solutions yet, but guessing they gonna rip thru wallet ;D

Edit: found couple more, seems solid: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DW56HX1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0711BK418
