Reprogram MMSI numbers

Is there a way to reprogram (in Europe) the MMSI numbers on a Raymarine AIS 650 and ICOM VHF without returning them to a dealer?

ProAIS2 doesn't do it. The function is greyed out.

Ive just been reading the manual and google searches about this and name change on the AIS650. I dont think you can edit the MMSI. Have to send it in as far as I can tell. Couldn't hurt to talk to a Raymarine service rep, if you have one near. Seems like its just software and a certified rep may have it.

Question for you- Did you use ProAIS2 for Windows or Mac? I have a Mac device and you can get the ProAIS2 Mac version from Digital Yacht. I just dont know if it works for Raymarine, or if it is for their hardware. Dont want to brick anything.

Definitely talk with Raymarine and Icom. Vesper was able to give me a special code to input to unlock the function to change the MMSI without sending it to a dealer. Perhaps other manufacturers have a similar backdoor.

Windows and it works for RM.
