Sending Email to WinLink Account

I have been using winlink for years. This season I have tested my system by sending an email to my regular account and then replying to the message to my Winlink account.
The reply message keeps getting bounced. I finally added WL2K in the subject and that worked.
I thought that a reply to a winlink message would not be blocked.
Has something changed? Does anyone have some thoughts?

Steve, check to see that you don't have your whitelist enabled. Chuck

Re: Sending Email to WinLink Account

The act of sending an e-mail to an address should add that address to your accept list. You can download your white list and check to see if that has occurred. If there seems to be a glitch, send a message to Steve K4CJX (or any other development team member) and he will likely help sort it out.

Cheers and good luck,

Jim N9GFT/VK4GFT

The whitelist is hard-wired on now in Winlink. You can't disable it.

Sending an e-mail to an address is supposed to automatically add that address to your whitelist but it doesn't seem to always work. Adding //WL2K to the subject line does work reliably.

Re: Sending Email to WinLink Account

You can manually add names to your whitelist following this format:

send the following sort of message

TO: SYSTEM
Subject: WHITELIST
-------------------
Accept: Joe@somewhere.com
Accept: Bill@someplace.net
Accept: Judy@noplace.org
Delete: joan@overthere.com
Delete: steve@someplace.net
Reject: ed@thatplace.net
Reject: nogood.com
Accept: sailmail.com
Accept: ARRL.org

Thus you can add individual addresses or whole domains, reject same or delete existing names from your list.

Cheers,

Jim
