SG200 In Engine Compartment?

Currently doing a wiring upgrade which includes putting my main negative bus in the engine compartment. i want to put the shunt for the SG next to the bus.

I didn't see anything on Balmars website regarding this and dont have the manual handy. Any ideas if that would be bad for the shunt?

My engine compartment is actually completely open to the entire aft interior of the boat so is not really an enclosed compartment completely so wouldn't see the temps a completely enclosed one would.

The shunt would be up away in a corner a couple feet from the front of the engine.

Re: SG200 In Engine Compartment?

Thanks GordMay. It seems like its preferred to be closer to the battery and i realized the +pos lead on the shunt wont reach my battery so will have to find another location. much appreciated, i read recently Balmar updated the istallation manual since i bought my SG-200 so this will be handy now i finally have time to install it.
