In most countries you get the SIM card free or nearly free, and truly unlimited data is usually €20 to €25. Or 20 to 30 gb for €10 or €15. I have unlimited 5g data good in all Nordic and Baltic countries, and 20gb per month in any other EU countries, for €25 per month.

Nearly all data sim cards in Northern Europe can be used in any kind of device.
Which company do you recommend? We will traveling in The Netherlands (using our starter card mentioned above) and then through Kiel to Denmark and Baltic. We also have a Vodafone SIM ready to activate when we get to the UK.

Ok, that's a plan.

I have used Lebara in both NL and DK with good results, but the deals change all the time so it's worth doing a little shopping. Lebara has very good platform for topping up online, but probably all do by now. You can buy the SIM cards in any newsstand or grocery shop.

Note that you can roam within Europe subject to fair use at the home rate, so you don't have to change sim cards immediately. Some cards in Nordic countries allow unlimited use in other Nordic and Baltic countries.

Good luck!

There is no minimum each month but there is a sizeable refundable deposit to get pay as you go account.

Very expensive data rates

Well at the published rates I’ll stay with my 4G unlimited data ( good for about 15nm offshore ) , thanks , starlink have a long way to go to be competitive with good unlimited 4G

We could also use that connection for voice over ip calls.

It was recommended to us to get a new SIM every month to not fall into an auto renewal trap.

Not sure about other European countries. In Germany it's much more expensive.

Possible write here which countries you are visiting, northern European is not very precise.
That is incredibly cheap! Here in Canada we pay $60+ for 6GB of data per month!

But in general ask for a "Tablet" plan and you'll get the SIM & plan you need (no different than a phone sim)

All over Europe you will find large or unlimited data plans around €25-40 per month

I pay 35€ a month for unlimited data , unlimited calls and texts within the EU, plus 100 mins international calls.

My apr use was 380 Gb so that useful to me.

Yes, it is very cheap, our rates in Germany are nowhere near as good.
