Simrad AP300DLX display slowly degrading

Long time sailor...first time poster at cruiserforum.

My Simrad Robertson AP300DLX display has started to degrade. (picture link: http://imgur.com/6tKKcxN ).

I read a thread here from 2013 where tayana55 and others were looking into replacing the LCD display. Robnet Network Specifications [Sitemap] - Cruisers & Sailing Forums

How did that go? My preference is to repair as I'm fairly handy with a soldering iron, but would buy a used unit if priced right.

Thanks.

There was a thread a week or so ago about replacing the LCD display panel. This is an older one but you may be able to find more threads on the subject using the "google custom search".
