Skywatch BL300 anemometer

Has anyone, or do you know someone, who has used one of these higher end handheld anemometers?
I'm not finding many reviews or anything online showing it being used on sailboats. I think the technology is about a year old.

To my knowledge it is the only Bluetooth (about 60' range) anemometer that also can be mounted, not needing one to hold it facing it into the wind. It does speed and direction. The 400 and 500 models have a couple more bells and whistles. It feeds the data via an android app.

I can't help but wonder if it could be an okay happy medium between a masthead ane and a handheld. No it won't be as accurate as a masthead one but if you have had yours damaged up there then you have possibly thought about other options. I figure this is for a cruiser, not a racer. Perhaps one could mount it to the bow pulpit for upwind sailing and then when on a downwind leg lash it to the pushpit, bimini or dodger. I'm also interested in it since it is portable, so you can use it on other boats such as a sailing dinghy for direction/speed in lieu of a fragile dinghy windex.
