South pacific Nav program for Ipad/ Mac book

ANy recommendations on a Nav program that will run as a back up on my new Ipad. I use a Garmin plotter in the cockpit? So many to choose from?

Not sure the extent of the South Pacific you are considering, but for me in North Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef I find Navionics is spot on.

for cheaper version:
- Garmin Bluechart Mobile
- Navionics (check region)

I prefer iNavx, we just think about this region and I install this charts
As my experience with iNax - it's work perfect, but unfortunately - no integration with ActiveCaptain or similar POI program

Garmin - has POI, but not easy to integrate, You can't for example upload Track from e-mail, or overlay weather received by satellite mail. Interesting - Garmin really think - we sail just coastal when 3g? :-)

iNavx do this perfect, for example You can receive from SailDoc Grib using X-Gate and Iridium or Inmarsat from You iPad and open it in iNavx, but not in Garmin or Navionics

Just few world more - old verion (very old) of Navionics always store charts and updates on You device, with last just I - at least 3 time lost all downloaded sectors, You must check exactly before You go to the Sea, what You really have

I don't know about Garmin (not long time experienced)
iNavx store all charts and never in my practice lost it when updates

in fact - Navionics now just for search marinas and contact details, not for navigation
iNavx - perfect, my Garmin 4008 not better, use it 2 years
