SSB alternate backstay ground

Hello. I have been working on my grounding system for my alternate backstay antenna. I would like feedback on two issues please. I installed the anchoring point for the antenna really close to where the propane tank is mounted on the pushpit. Probably a stupid question I know but could a lightening strike blow up the propane tank if the strike hits the mast and travels down the antenna? Secondly I was going to tie the grounding plate to multiple thru hulls. But I heard that to do so in the absence of a lightening strike system could introduce corrosion.

Any feedback please?

Thank-you

Michael

Diffinately a lightning strike, if travelled down to the antenna anchor point could blow the propane up. I've learnd long ago that anything is posible on a boat! Tying a grounding plate to multiple thru-hulls is not neccesary if it is for radio ground. That is if your grounding plate is the sindered type. Also there are 2 schools of thought on bonding thru-hulls to a common ground strap (electrical not radio) and then to a zinc. Personally I do not bond and have had no problems.
