Standard Horizon Radio & chart plotter ?

Hello all

I have hust finished installing a cp180 and an eclipse DSC+ The radio is getting my GPS nfo but I do not get any NMEA message data on my CP180 Chart Plotter. I am sure it is my lack of knowledge on using this equipment but how do I at least test the DSC function from the chart plotter. I did test the DSC fro, the radio with the Rescue 21 test feature and I got a response within 7 sec (I like that) but I thought I could poll DSC from the chart plotter but I dont see anything to poll. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don

Don, I don't believe the CP 180 can poll a DSC radio. It will display the location if a DCS signal is sent from another vessel. Your SH VHF must first receive the call, then the VHF sends the info to the plotter. Chuck

You need to upgrade your software on the CP so it can poll. Not all equipment is compatible, check first. For handheld (your sailnet question) the S+H HX850s or HX851 with polling DSC and GPS. For navigation a S+H CP connected to a S+H GX2150 DSC-AIS VHF.

I believe the CP180 needs to be programmed as well. Check the manual.

K, thanks I will have to look into the software upgrade. Fresh out of the box you would think it would be up to date but I know sometimes in a rush to market corners get cut.
