Starlink Dishy Installs

Looking for good mounting ideas for my dishy. Anyone have any mounting pictures they would like to share?

Pictures of the boat at a distance would be great.

Re: Starlink Dishy Installs

I have just stuck mine on a filletting table at the back of my cat. The Starlink on Boats, Facebook page has a lot of pics of various installs too.

Re: Starlink Dishy Installs

I used an adapter for 1" standard antenna mount to Starlink antenna mount. Was about $80 but I forget where I sourced it from. I am pretty sure my radar dome will broadcast well beneath the Starlink antenna. If not, will add a 6 inch riser.

That looks good. Does your mount provide good stability for the dishy?

We installed ours where our old sat tv was. The bolt pattern was exactly the same as the KVH Click image for larger version

Re: Starlink Dishy Installs

I stuck the standard dishy mast into a fishing rod holder and drilled/tapped a screw into it. Works great, super stable, had everything we needed already onboard.

I was worried too. But the more I thought about it, these mounts are made for 8-foot VHF antennae which have a lot of lever arm.

Mounts are not cheap. I think I paid around $70 for aluminum. E-riggers has some nice ones too. I'm pretty sure it will be useless within a couple years when Starlink updates their antenna. Price of admission in early phases.
