As long as we don't go too far offshore, given their geo-fencing...

For the time being - could/will change when Starlink is ready.

The coverage map does not show ocean coverage, only for land masses and islands.

Its not ready for prime time yet.

Service cuts out at 12 miles offshore. No one knows for sure why, but it is likely regulatory.

I'm using it in lieu of a peplink router with cellular connections for marina and coastal. It's a no brainer for replacing cellular service and crappy marina wifi. Starlink is faster, cheaper, and more bandwidth. The only downside is it uses more power: 48 watts for square dishy.

Offshore will remain Iridium until Starlink opens service AND has a viable marine antenna.
