starlink rv mobile?

Has anybody used the Starlink mobile unit in the Dry Tortugas? Is it on the starlink network for the map for the portable unit or would one need the expensive marine unit?

How about in the Bahamas?

Also, anybody leaving the mobile unit outside in a more permanent mount?

Thanks!

We’re not in your area, but as countless posts have written, the Mobile service (aka RV) with rectangular dish will work anywhere Starlink shows blue land hexes, as long as your service address is in the same Starlink continent. If you’ll be in a new continent, or you want to move into the black ocean hexes, then you’ll need to opt-in to Mobile Priority Data to maintain an active connection. This has all been covered extensively in CF and Facebook.

Regarding the dish, it’s perfectly happy out in the weather, though you should protect the connection from water and weather. We use amalgamating tape to cover that connection. Our dishy has been mounted on a pole near our stern for the last year and is no worse for wear. It does have a dent where a bird dropped something onto it.
