stereos for mp3 and ssb

I need to replace my stereo and have been thinking of what I want -- something simple with no moving parts.

Is there a car/marine stereo that I can load up with mp3 music from my laptop and then forget about, not worry about CDs, cassettes, etc.

I know there are lots of stereos that play ipods or other mp3 players with plug adaptors, but I don't want that -- just another thing to bring along and keep charged.

Another thing...

While we are on it, is there a car/marine stereo with a tuner that can also monitor ham and ssb bands? I want something that installs into a panel like a car stereo, as opposed to the Grundigs and Sonys which sprout wings when you sit them on a chart table!

It doesn't have to accept mp3s, but that would be cool.

They do have small console (cockpit) type of stereos, that can play MP3's. They have been out now for a few years now. You should look around shops where they sell small console stereo systems?

I plan to install one of these on board my boat, in the near future. Once I finish rebuilding the wooden drawers. And build a small shelf for the TV DVD Stereo system setup!!
