Switches and Sensors for Volvo MD 2020

Hello:

I have a Volvo MD 2020 in a sailboat.

For whatever reason, the only analog gauge I have is the tachometer. The oil pressure and the coolant temperature are both idiot lights. I won’t waste your time explaining, but those idiot lights have cost me dearly because I can’t tell what’s really going on in the engine.

So my goal is really twofold. One, I want to replace the switches (which I think is what you call an idiot light sender), and secondly, I want to be able to have temperature and oil pressure data which I can send in turn to gauge instruments or possibly even digitally to the chart plotter.

I’m not sure of the terminology, but I think you call the idiot light item a switch, and a analog data read out a sensor. I might have the terminology wrong but I think that might be right.

Thus far I’ve only been able to find and oil pressure switch and nothing else.

Does anyone know where I can find these items. I would even look in Europe because there’s such a scarcity of these items in the states.

Thanks.

Michael
