Trouble with Water Witch Alarm and Sensor

Hello, I went to hook my batteries for the season and was having some odd problems related to my bilge pump. When the house batteries would hooked up and the battery selector was off the bilge pump had a buzzing sound. When the starter battery was then hooked up, the buzzing stopped, however, the bilge pump started running - again the battery selector was off.

I began tracing the wires for the bilge pump system and laid out the diagram below. After I untethered all the wires and pulled them out of the bilge the problem above seemed to go away.

I have two questions for the group. First, based on the diagram below, is this the correct way to install a bilge pump, water witch sensor and alarm? This is what I inherited.

Second, what could have caused the issues above? Assuming it's something in one of the wires. What is the best way to go about rectifying this?

Thanks in advance.
