Well, crap. That part works. I just never got to it. I guess because the boat is not moving, it keeps making the + 10 adjustment...

Re: Trying To Set Up My Autopilot

Do you mean the wheel goes hard over rather than a slight turn and stop? Other than following the manual about turning off/on and switching the wiring, I'm at a loss. Another day?

Re: Trying To Set Up My Autopilot

No, it goes over 10 degrees like it's supposed to. But the boat is not moving, it's tied to a dock. So the wheel does it again, and then again , until you make it stop. I assume it's doing that because the course of the boat is not actually changing.

Probably working fine. Maybe the calibration motoring in circles will have it good to go. I believe the fluxgate is the focus of the process and it's a bit confused just now.

Re: Trying To Set Up My Autopilot

I'm excited that it is working, but it really chaps my ass that it was working on Saturday and I went home mad because I didn't know I was supposed to skip the first step. I have a Raymarine authorized technician on messenger right now walking me through that dealer calibration. This guy is awesome! I will do the sea trial in the morning.

I'll be damned. I figured out how to set a waypoint... and now it shows up.

Boat for sale? I,m glad you got it figured out, it can be confusing and frustrating. I found a great deal of help at the Raymarine Tech site, great people there.

Re: Trying To Set Up My Autopilot

Just made the 12 miles trip from gulfport to ship island after sea trial calibration. Only problem I had was a few times when I forgot to engage the motor and I got an error.

Re: Trying To Set Up My Autopilot

you do not need a chart plotter of nmea link to make the pilot work. first step is to get the pilot working. do the dockside setup and go do sea trial and swing the compass. make it steer to a heading.

then back at the dock, look into the chart plotter issue.
