Thanks again for all your input. I found the problem.
I hooked up 12 V right to the Hydr. Pump and the pump is working fine.
I have a power drop between input and output going to the drive motor. The output to the motor is only 6-7 Volt which is not enough to run the motor. Raymarine needs to repair (under warranty) the circuit board which is responsible for the power drop.
We will sail the 600 NM to Panama w/o Autopilot and get the repair done in Panama.
You all were a big help.
Peter

I think you need a unit with more power, able to supply more current to the hydraulic drive. The current unit is probably rated okay because the fuses didn't blow, but not able to supply max. power for extended periods.

cheers,
Nick.

You will find that every Ray pilot (pun intended) will only output around those values (6-7v) - to get the real reading hit +10 or -10 three times in a row quickly. Pressing once or even a couple times slowly will not result in the maximum output being achieved from the cc.

The three presses quickly lets the cc know that we need a change, NOW. The voltage should ramp up to ships main at that point. The lower voltages are normal as usually we are making smaller corrections.

Your SPX30 is at v1.20? Start there, you can check the cc version by holding standby for a few seconds, maybe 10 seconds or so - past the CAL and into an alternating display that shows you display FW and SW of the cc.

Re: Urgent: Problems with ST6002 Autopilot

Im having the exactly same problem here.
The control only sends 6V, not enough for the arm to work.

Arm works normally if connected directly to 12V

How have u solved the problem @katkomomo?

Is this a fix I could do myself?

Only person here where I am that works with that not answering.

Re: Urgent: Problems with ST6002 Autopilot

Do you know how can I identify this thing, and how to know its not working?

It should raise the voltage?
