Vctron/IPhone

Last September I installed new batteries 2 banks of 4 for a total of 1600ah, with that I installed Victron Smart Shunt one on each bank, I paired them with my IPhone and all was great.
I changed service providers and with that I got a new IPhone, now I cannot pair the new IPhone to the Victrons.
I have tried just about everything on the manual, I completely shut down my old IPhone so as not to have any interference. My new IPhone can see the Victrons on the Victron connect app but I can't pair them so as to read the batteries, also my blue tooth on the new IPhone does not acknowledge them.
I've contacted Victron but all they do is send me the manual (I have read it).
question; would disconnecting the victrons and reconnecting them reboot them and solve the problem?......just a thought

Did you change the bluetooth pin when you first configured?

in the old times, if it was mechanical, hit it with a hammer.

Now, reboot

Re: Vctron/IPhone

Ok I have had this happen. Sometimes the initial pair code is actually the code listed on the sticker on the smart shunt itself, then it will work with your standard 000000.

Re: Vctron/IPhone

Changing provider is not the issue for sure. This is a Bluetooth problem.

Can you get anything else to work via the iPhone Buetooth connection?

If not then you have a phone issue.

If you can get other stuff to work then perhaps depower the shunt, turn phone bluetooth OFF, restart phone, turn phone blue ON and reconnect Victron.

Early bluetooth installations would often require you to turn the device on and start the Bluetooth connection in short order so they would pair. I have ot had that problem in some years.

But first make sure the iPhone Bluetooth is working and will pair with something else. Speaker, head phones, whatever.

All that said, I have 2 Victron controllers which have worked flawlessly for a few years. Then last week one got finicky. It still connects but thinks about it.

Re: Vctron/IPhone

Side remark, I was walking along the boat yard the other day looking at my Victron app and saw units come and go as I walked past various boats. I would definitely change the code, it's too easy otherwise to fool around with others' Victron units...

Re: Vctron/IPhone

Seeing the subject line I realized I hadn’t used Victron Connect with the new iPhone 15pro I just commissioned a couple of days ago.

I just now opened the app and it had no issues immediately listing our 2 smart shunts, 3 smart solar controllers, etc. I will [as expected] ask for each devices PIN the first time I try to ‘open’ each device. Quick and easy.

Based upon my above experience, I would guess that you may have a Bluetooth issue with your new phone…? [Added: You didn’t mention where pairing is failing on your new phone… If the PINs you are using are being rejected, then follow Victron’s PIN reset advice for each device…]

Best wishes sorting it out.

Cheers, Bill

PS: I did not unpair the Victron devices on the old phone first, and it also still sees and drills-into the Victron devices as always…

Re: Vctron/IPhone

We have at least 3 iPhones and 2 iPads setup with all our Victron devices. I have never not been able to connect. When we got new iPhone 15 Pro's before we left for the Bahamas I connected both to each device. I did have to put in our pin for each device. I do recommend changing the pin. Like it was mentioned above I find people with default pins all the time. A malicious person could easily make changes that would hurt equipment.

Re: Vctron/IPhone

reset the pin code. you probably changed it. you use the puk code on the side of the shunt to do that.
