Very frustrated

Cheorae is sitting in Panama. Originally an Italian registered vessel. Now UK registered. We are due to start the trip from Panama to Houston around 30th march. She has an existing Epirb on board with good battery expiry date and performing the safe test correctly. I tried to update the Epirb details with the Italian authority's who won't do it as the vessel is now uk registered. They eventually referred me to the uk authority who will not register because it's coded to Italy. They suggested I take it to the authorized dealer to change the Id. No dealers in panama. Took it to the airport to bring to the USA with me 2 days ago but Couldn't take in on the plane (lithium battery), decided it easier to buy a new one in the Uk. But how to ship it to USA considering the lithium battery.

Fedex will ship lithium batteries.. They have some requirements (not over a certain MAH), you can find details here:

If the Li battery is still the sticking point, a couple of ideas:

1. Ship/bring the existing unit without battery to somewhere for recoding to the UK. Dealership should be able to power it themselves. -or -
2. Have UK dealer ship new unit to you without battery, since you have a good battery.
