Vesper XB8000 AIS and Raymarine ES78

Hi all,

Thinking about buying a Vesper Marine XB8000 wifi AIS transponder and just thinking about how easy it will be to integrate with my Raymarine ES78 MFD.

In theory, the ES78 should just be able to see the wifi signal from the XB800 and connect to it, and show AIS targets just like my WiFi Quantum radar and overlay on my chart. I'd rather avoid hard wiring these units together, hence leaning towards the wifi XB8000.

Though this sounds too easy... Anyone have experience pairing these two items or similar?

no it would not be with wifi. it would be though either nmea 183 or you'd need to build a hybrid seatlkng / nmea2000 backbone and use that. assuming that screen is seatalkng
