Where to have Ocean Signal EPIRB Programming Done

I purchased a boat from a gentleman in France, and it included an Ocean Signal EPIRB1. Because it was originally programmed in France, it has a UIN encoded for France.

My boat is now registered in the US with the Coast Guard. In order to update my EPIRB to my vessel and my contact information, I need to have it reprogrammed with a new UIN, encode to the US. And, I need to identify a place to get it reprogrammed.

I found a place in Miami (Daytrex) that will do it for $75. I am looking for other alternatives, as this is the only place I found. Any one know of other alternatives? I do not have any problems with Daytrex, but for all I know someone will do it for $10.

I'm heading north in a couple of months and am willing to go wait to get a better price, as things seem to get less expensive the further north you go.

Thanks.

Landfall Navigation also sells them, so they should know who can service them. $75 for any kind of "bench work" in an electronics shop may be as low as it gets.

ACR charges $45 to re-program one of their EPIRB.

West Marine sells Ocean Signal; but I wouldn't trust them to reprogram one unless they send it to an Authorized Service Center.
