Which Security Alarm System?

Inquiring what security alarm systems owners have installed on their boats. Of course no specific details required, just manufacturer suggestions.

Thanks,

Darren

There are many different types of alarm systems. Do any in particular interest you?

I am currently interested in equipment from Flagship Marine Security. It looks marinised enough with features relevant to a boat.

We got a D cell battery operated alarm with wireless motion detector
Cost about $50?
We stick it up near the door way with velcro. 120Db and a flashing light. Buggered if I know who it would scare most, us or the crooks!

Has a remote switch to turn it on/off.

Arlec - Products

Product Feature :
DA200
WIRELESS ALARM SYSTEM
The DA200 is a DIY wireless remote controlled security system. The kit contains: external control panel, siren, movement activated sensor, portable On/Off alarm remote control unit. Sensor detects motion within an 8m radius and has a scan angle of 1200. 12 month guarantee. Additional components/accessories available.

For the tropics we got a new cockpit companionway door - below. We use it when ever we are out blissfully cool boat on our return. We could lock ourselves in at night too.

Yes Today she stole my wallet and last seen hopped a bus to the local shopping center....
1 hour is fine
2 hours I get worried
3 unrestrained shopping hours I get verrrrry worried
She took 4 hours and now I'm broke!

Thats why she is smiling in the photo!

A fellow I know makes a simple system that activates using fishing line as a trip wire. Very loud, lights flashing etc.. Shuts down after preprogramed time. Battery operated. Long batter life since most of its time is just idle. With his permission I am posting his contact information.
