Wind transducer PCB

Having changed the PCB in my Raymarine wind Transducer 3 times over the last 12 years I decided to lacquer the latest one. Having examined under microscope the failed ones It was not component failure but corrosion. Why don't Raymarine do this ... Answer is probably profit as the components on the board probably cost 20USD but they sell for 200. If you have the chance I recommend you lacquer the board with clear acrylic if you want it to last!
