WORLD AIS NETWORK

Hi all.

Thought you might be interested to view our new, complimentary LIVEAISWORLD
network we have created recently.

Through the co-operation of Shipplotter 'sharers' round the world with a
central server in the UK, we are able to set up a public access through
Google Map/Satellite and our own fast server in Reno.

As time goes by, more and more 'sharers' will allow access to their local
AIS ship data, expanding the reach of our LIVEAISWORLD network.

What is of particular interest to yachtsmen is the present ability to monitor
the movements of all yachts/megayachts in the major marinas of the french
riviera. Later, we are hoping to also include major marinas in Florida and
otherwise around the world. Have a look for yourself:

YACHTMARINE - Live AIS World Ship Monitoring

You can join the network from YOUR area by making a small investment in
a VHF antenna,an AIS receiver, linking up to the internet based service.
Please ask for details if you are interested.

Best regards
Tore

Very nice! I am planning the installation of a Smart Radio SR161 AIS receiver from MillTech Marine, along with an MiniPlex-AIS multiplexer from ShipModul Marine Electronics to feed my Raymarine E80 Chartplotter.

Advice is needed.

I already have a Raymarine Pathfinder Smart Heading Sensor and a Raymarine Raystar 125 GPS Sensor feeding NMEA 0183 data to the E80 through an existing Raymarine NMEA multiplexer. I want to remove the Raymarine multiplexer and replace it with the MiniPlex-AIS multiplexer, while retaining all of the former capabilities of the system (RADAR overlaying chart) and adding AIS information on the chartplotter.

Suggestions for doing this correctly are welcome

Tore,

Very nice effort.

A couple of things:

The Chesapeake Bay needs the "e" (not Chesapeak)

The correct abbreviation for Maine is ME not MA (which is Massachusetts), so it should be "Portland ME"

You need to put a "Contact Us" or "Feedback" link on the main website.

Thanks for all your work,

Bill

It's not quite a world network but if I get near there it might be useful if I had global internet access.

PROBLEMS ENTERING TEXT

I apologise for the unfinished post yesterday but for some reason the system here allowed just 3 lines to be entered and cut the rest. What´s happening?

To make it brief, have a look again at YACHTMARINE - Live AIS World Ship Monitoring
and select the 'Alternative display by Siitech"

Interesting, a ship named Aphrodite, with the same MMSI in both locations is both just north of Discovery Island in the Straits of Juan De Fuca in the Puget Sound view, and just north of Edmonds (and west so it's actually in the water) in Puget Sound, in the Seattle view. Both views claim that it is the current time, though the Puget Sound view has the time in the info box for the ship and the Seattle view has the time in the web page window.
