World Charts Options - Garmin Chartplotter

I'm outfitting a new world cruising boat and I think I want to standardize on Garmin electronics for simplicity and hopefully less headaches than other systems. I like the watch, the iPad options, the plotter, N2K, the promise of their new autopilot, the company etc.

My only reservation is the charts and specifically the lack of good charts for the south pacific.

What do you recommend? Using something like opencpn in addition to the Garmin chartplotter. Or should I dump the whole Garmin program and just go with the B&G system.

I had a furuno and NKE and didn't like the poor integration between the two systems. I want plug and play and one vendor if possible.
