Yanmar Tach Sender

I have a Yanmar 2GM with the type A instrument pamel. Which means no tachometer.

But it appears to have a sending unit, mounted where tachometer sending units are mounted with wires on it.

If this thing is a dummy to fill the whole it seems more likely Yanmar would just stick a bolt in there. You think the factory made a mistake?

Its the tach sender.Likely they always install the sender. but the panel is purchased / ordered separately. Its only a $15 item for yanmar. No biggy for them.
