Classic rudder

I have a classic sailboat with a large rudder. It has been dismantled due to a shaft problem. Can’t seem to find anyone that can put it back together and install. On the Central East Coast of FL, any recommendations?

I see that no-one has responded yet. Possibly because your post gives too little information for anyone to feel confident in giving advice.

Please post the type of boat you have, and what you mean by a "large rudder". Photos always help :-)!

On "classic" boats of the "redningsskoite" type (Colin Archer) shaft problems can usually be fixed without removing the rudder.

If the rudder has been removed, it is usually quite simple to replace it even though it may be heavy work. We can probably "walk you through it" if circumstances compel you to do it yourself.

All the best
