Does Yahoo Mail Suck?

In my opinion Yahoo mail sucks, I have great difficulty logging on and using yahoo mail. Extremely slow or mostly non-responsive. Yet during these (dailey) issues I can log onto any other site with no problems then go back to Yahoo and still have the problem. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

Yeah, I think it sux, too. My problem is I have had the same e-mail account with them since 2001 and it would be too much trouble a this point to change to another provider.

But, it does suck.

Yes. It is really bad when you have slow connections -- like when you are cruising. Use gmail.

No problems for years all over the world... only since the latest version when my Notebook is at max res and Yahoo says I need more to guarantee 100%... on my laptop... Hunky Dory...
Even if it sucked... no way would I switch to Google... in fact I avoid it completely... apart from this site which is it appears funded/supported by them to some extent...

i use it and gmail.....sometimes it suxx and sometimes it is ok....is always slow
gmail is not much faster, but has less moving parts so it occasionally loads faster. when gmail doesnt load i know it is signal fail....

You might want to change browsers. I use yahoo and it's as fast as any other site I use. You might give Mozilla Firefox a whirl. Works for me. All in all pretty happy considering that big FREE price. YMMV

Get your own domain name and you get as many email accounts as you like, plus you can make your own website, and/or have space for online storage (you own 'cloud' but secure!)

browser---rodlmao---change browsers....i love that--i cannot use internet destroyer, freezes....firefox freezes because of my weak signals and so much bandwidth used by firefox!!!--chrome seems to be only one that is reliable for my machines here in weak signalville....

I am now on Chrome (not totally by choice - but that another story ), both Notepad and Yahoo a lot lot quicker .......of course Yahoo e-mail long since relegated from being my main E-mail account due to speed issues.

Just hopefully some helpful thoughts.

No personal experience with it, but I have read that going with a older version of a particular browser can bring considerable improvements, at least in the speed dept.
Various free disk cleaning tools have helped my laptop's performance even with oft times weak signal too.

I've used Yahoo mail for years and never have problems. Currently my hotmail account is down though.

I think it sucks as well, however it may be our ATT dsl connection which REALLY SUCKS,

I have used yahoo for many years. Hate it but gmail is a non starter. I have a gmail account but attached at the hip to yahoo. Did a liitle looking awhile back for a new browser. IE and Firfox are resource hogs. I liked chrome as it does not used much resources but it has this cloud feature that overwirtes my bookmarks as to go to different machine. It also crashes my W7 machine due to some flash issue. I am now trying a browser called Avant. It seems there are three basic browers engines, IE, Firefox and chrome. With Avant there is a small resource usage like chrome but you can choose which engine you want.

Agree. Help your computer do it's job. Delete unwanted cookies and all temporary files. Defrag your hard drive and registers. Apply all updates.

Gmail and Google Chrome analyze your emails for opportunities to send you more ads. Yahoo is still learning this trick.

One option for those who feel locked into Yahoo, is to set up mail forwarding from Advanced Options. Just enter another email address (gmail, hotmail etc. whichever works best) Yahoo will forward the email to the new address, and can mark it as read in the Yahoo inbox.

That way all your existing contacts can use your old yahoo address, but you access the mail through an alternative (faster) service. You may have to log in to yahoo to send email from that address, but some services allow you to specify the "from" email address (at least they used to, not tried that for years)
