5.0 version works, 5.2 broken

reinstalled redownloaded twice. Problem is ENC vector chart display 'user standard objects' on 5.2 is greyed out and nothing is selectable.

so i found a 5.0 download and installed side by side

5.2 is not broken. OpenCPN 5.2.x requires "User Standard" to be selected before "user standard objects" may be changed.

Select "User Standard" under "Display Category" in "Chart Panel Options" menu (bottom-right "hamburger" menu button). Then, "Select All", "Clear All", and "reset to STANDARD" buttons are enabled and not greyed out.

Not getting what your saying, I dont have user standard check box,
here is my screen, I do not see what option your sayin, and I tried selecting every box.

HOW do you open chart panel options?? box your showing on the right? your dont seem to be saying how to do that...

I found out how, next to the ship ICON, very bottom right on the main map, click the 3 slashes icon to find the option. This is all I needed to know! I suppose you all think hamburger icon has meaning to me...

... it would do if you read the manual. Unfortunately these complex software products don't work by intuition

Been using opencpn for a very long time. I know what your saying. any idea why that option is not auto selected to on as was the default behavior before? I put this on a new machine, and every user selectable option for the ENC was unchecked.
