5.8.4 fails to show unified charts

Hi All,

New here but couldn't find any help by searching. I use a laptop with Windows10 Home on the boat & had OpenCPN 5.6.2 installed with unified charts bought from visitmyharbour.com

I upgraded to the current 5.8.4 version by uninstalling & installing from scratch. Although when I start the program for the first time, it seems to catellogue the charts, nothing is visible. If I go back to 5.6.2 with the same install process all is OK.

Has anyone else come across this & any ideas on how to fix. I'd like to try the newest version as 5.6.2 seems to freeze from time to time.

I haven't tried these charts but a general advice is to use Options->Charts: [x]"Force full database Rebuild"

Thanks Hakan, soon after posting, I got a message back from visitmyharbour.

The charts are incompatible with new issues of OpenCPN.Seems they have to produce new software.

Sorted now. I downloaded an update to the charts. Seems that these charts can be updated for the first 12 months. After that, if you update OpenCPN, you need to buy again. They are a reasonable cost though - much cheaper than charts for a chart plotter.
