About accuracy of the charts

Hello everyone
From the NOAA website I downloaded the charts for the Lake Champlain, NY.

In OpenCPN the Fort Montgomery is shown in the Canadian side of the border, on Google maps it shows the opposite.

I will sail North of that point and it's a shallow area, is there any adjustment I should make to improve accuracy?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Buy the latest paper chart, check the Notices to Mariners for corrections (if any).

In addition; pencils, eraser, plotting aid, means to take bearings.

Nautical charts, from national hydrographic services, and in particular, Canada, usable precisely thanks to OpenCPN and the o-charts_pi plugin.

It is an excellent idea. And inexpensive.

Re: About accuracy of the charts

Charts by hydrographic services usually provide information on the surveys used to compile the chart which allow one to make an assessment of their quality.
