All the above is may be too complicated for a new user. But the conclusion is that the AutoTrackRaymarine plugin works fine when the WMM plugin is activated. All I should do is to generate a clear warning when WMM is not active and the magnetic variation is missing. This will be in the next release.

But , as always when sailing, keep a steady lookout specially when steering on the autopilot, local magnetic anomalies, waypoint changes or even software errors may cause the boat to deviate from its course and will require immediate intervention.
