AIS Rollover not working for me

I have checked the three options for Rollover in Options/Ships/AIS Targets and 'Apply' (to answer the obvious).

Placing the cursor over an AIS target does nothing, which I believe is the intent of 'rollover'.


However, left-clicking on the target displays the information selected in the Rollover section.

Perhaps it depends of the OS you are using. With macOS it works OK.

under W10, W8.1 (2 systems) and macOS with 4.8.4, 4.8.6 and 4.99 (split display tests) we did not observe that issue.

I have discovered that if you 'Enable Touchscreen interface' in Options/User Interface it disables the rollover feature on my PC with a touchscreen. With this setting enabled, touching a target displays the target information. Without it enabled the rollover feature works.

Ahhh....

"Rollover" is a mouse thing. One does not exactly "rollover" with a touchscreen. This could get very distracting to the overall UI. Thus, rollover is disabled for touch.

Makes good sense to do that. Just took me awhile to figure it out. And the more than several hundred viewers of my posting evidently had not figured it out either!

I'm not suggesting doing otherwise ... just still learning the idosyncracies of the program.
