Re: AIS Track Time

Steve have you tried SAR_pi

which has an ov50 compile, but it should have coordinate conversion implemented

for safe operation purposes.

Re: AIS Track Time

Hi rgleason,
Yes I have the SAR plug in but its no good for my purpose. Its OK if your using it on board and in a single vessel search scenario but multiple vessels can not do sector, expanding squares and the like. Funny though I just tried the plugins with the 4.99 beta version and they don't work so I'll need to update them too. I have written some software which does all the plugin stuff and more including multi vessel search patterns so I do not use the S&R plugin anyhow, it perhaps nice to have at you finger tips I suppose.
But thanks for you suggestion.
Regards
Steve

Re: AIS Track Time

Thanks Steve

I guess you consider SAR a bit of a toy from the sounds of it. With your program skills [and all that spare time] it would be great if we could get you to make a few of the most important improvements that you think are necessary! Or to even review and make the most important suggestions to make it better? Maybe you have list of the things your software does, prioritized?

I'll check and try to get it working. It shows as green on the page. Sorry.

Steve...

For the beta version you need another build of the plugins due to the different toolchain being used to build it, from https://opencpn.org/OpenCPN/atp/48fb3bOH/5plugs.html

Re: AIS Track Time

Hi Pavel,
Thanks for the link, however when the S&R plugin windows package link is selected the web page is not found so there is a problem there.
Cheers
Steve.

Re: AIS Track Time

Steve...

I have renamed the file on the CDN so the link should work now. Anyway, it will be the same unsuitable for you as it always was.

Re: AIS Track Time

Hi Pavel,
You must be sick of me by now !
Thanks for fixing the S&R link problem. I will add it to my openCPN even though I don't really need it.
Regards
Steve.

Re: AIS Track Time

Hi Pavel,
I see your on line, I did manage to download the V5 S&R plugin but I don't know why or if it will not work with the 4.99 beta version I have but openCPN could not recognise the installed .dll file so I could not enable it. You may know if it is an issue or just my setup as now and need to get the actual V5 release.
Regards
Steve.

Re: AIS Track Time

Steve...

I really don't know, not my plugin and I am busy with other stuff in the core program and real world right now. All the plugins will be taken care of before the final release.

Re: AIS Track Time

Hi Pavel,
No worries mate, I don't really need it anyhow as you know, I guess I was just inquisitive. Sorry to bother you, have a good night, I'll leave you alone to do your thing.

Steve.

Re: AIS Track Time

Yes, It's not loading for some reason:
Quote:
7:52:27 PM: PlugInManager: Loading PlugIn: C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenCPN 4.99.1408+0395280\plugins\sar_pi.dll
7:52:27 PM: Error: Failed to load shared library 'C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenCPN 4.99.1408+0395280\plugins\sar_pi.dll' (error 126: The specified module could not be found.)

Sorry about the diversion, after my suggestion. I'll try to fix it soon.

Re: AIS Track Time

Hi RG,
That all good, I just thought its best if someone knows there's a bug, then is fixed sooner rather than later. As y5ou have likely read in my reply to Pavel, I don't actually use it, but occasionally its nice to show trainees the single vessel patterns.
No worries, no hurry, have a great day.
Steve.

Re: AIS Track Time

Dear Steve,

I compiled it last night and tested the export of gpx to Opencpn and it seems to work properly with Opencpn 5.0 and 4.99mui. The version on the website download has not been changed yet, so this is from my repository and it should work. My list of requests:

1. It really should create a route in Opencpn rather than require export and import.
2. The copy and paste of starting waypoint should be seamless no matter what the system is set on (d,m,s or decmial degrees, or d, decimal minutes.)! This is a matter of safety and use during a stressful time and it should just work!
I'll be very interested in your thoughts.
Rick

SAR_pi - This one works. The one of the website fails and does not work at all

Re: AIS Track Time

Hi Rick,
Thanks for your return mail.
I used the link in your last mail but the SAR_PI.DLL still is not seen by OpenCPN. The EXE file installed the DLL dated 12-01-2019, I would have thought the corrected DLL would have been date something like 05-03-2019.
So it looks like I'm still downloading the original faulty file?

Cheers
Steve.

Re: AIS Track Time

Hmm. I don't know why that happened but I downloaded your link it tried it. I did get what was supposed to be the right file, but it did not work, was 443kb. I think I mis-labled the Opencpn 4.2-4.8.8 version.

Anyway I found the right compiled file and reloaded it to that same link here.

https://github.com/rgleason/SAR_pi/r.../tag/v1.1-ov50
<https://github.com/rgleason/SAR_pi/releases/tag/v1.1-ov50>
Which is labeled sar_pi-1.1-ov50-win32 441kb (instead of 443kb)

I installed it and ran it and it should work for you too with OpenCPN 5.0 or 4.99mui. Very sorry about that! Sometimes it happens....

PS: Also checked the Opencpn version 5 Plugins page and the link is correct.
