Anyone using a Mac Mini or similar for system computer?

Hello everyone!

Currently I have a Windows laptop that runs OpenCPN. I had to get Windows in order to also use misc PC-based software such as Sat2Chart.


I also have a Macbook that I use for primary daily tasks (office suite, adobe suite, streaming, etc.)


I also have an iPad as primary device at helm that grabs wireless NMEA 2000 data to use with Navionics (route imported from OpenCPN)


So OpenCPN runs downstairs on laptop and help has iPad.


I would like to come up with a wired (not wifi) solution at the helm that can duplicate the OpenCPN monitor below, so I've been looking into fanless, arm-based MiniPC with dual monitor outputs.

Seems the new Apple Mini M2 would fit the bill, but how do I handle Sat2Chart and other Windows-based software (sometimes windows emulators don't function 100% correctly).

Wanted to see if anyone else is doing something a bit more powerful than a Pi.
