Auto Route?

I have seen this in prior threads, but none in the last 5 years or so.

Is it possible to have O create a route between two points?

Background:
I have a chart plotter on my boat. It's old, and its years are numbered, and it is likely to be replaced by O. Until then, it works. I almost never create routes of any sort, and certainly never good enough to "follow." Routes mostly consist of a few points, sometimes even on/across land, and serve as a rough guide from here to there. The actual travel is determined in real-time.

I do have O on my laptop. I don't even have a GPS source -- it's purely for armchair navigation. It's also an effort to learn the program so when I make the leap to using it full time, I'm comfortable. With the loss of raster charts, the only current charts for O of the US are vector -- making data such as depths digitally available.

I have C-Map on my phone. This app is also used for armchair navigation. I'm running the free version, so it doesn't even have GPS enabled. But it's wonderful for looking at places. But, to the point of this post, it does auto routing. For instance, I'm considering a non-stop from the mid-Chesapeake to Halifax next year. In a few moments, I was able to develop a route via the C&D, and a route by the VA Capes, and see that they are only 35 miles different. Or, I can put in a trip from my home on the Patuxent River to a destination up the Potomac and get a planning distance (the "as-sailed" distance is about double the "crow's fly" distance).

It would be awesome if O could do an automatic route. Of course, you couldn't blindly sail it, but only a fool would think you could (curiously, C-Map puts an odd "wiggle" in the route 100 miles off NYC -- so even in mid-ocean it's dumb to follow it!). But as a planning tool, it would be awesome!
