Re: Beta Test / Technical

Hi Dave,

I just read some 5.2.0 code.

In Track.cpp line 762 there is a little routine:

762 static double heading_diff(double x)
763 {
764 if(x > 180)
765 return 360 - x;
766 if(x < -180)
767 return -360 + x;
768 return x;
769 }

I think there is a typo, and line 767 should rather be:

return 360+x;

Re: Beta Test / Technical

I don't think so. The idea is to keep the range between 0 and 360, isn't it?

The goal is obviously to keep the range between -180 and 180.
Add -360 and -185. What do you get?

-545.

You're right. If x is less than -180 you want to add it to (positive) 360.

Re: Beta Test / Technical

In Ubuntu 18.04 OpenCPN v5.5 froze up on me and I can't close it. What do I do to force it to close? So I can restart it?

xkill from terminal window, then select application with mouse

Possible Microsoft Announcement

Quote:
On Tuesday Microsoft employee Miguel de Icaza said on Twitter...

De Icaza joined Microsoft in 2016 as part of its acquisition of Xamarin, which allows software developers to build mobile apps for multiple platforms — including Apple’s IOS and Google’s Android — using Microsoft’s C# programming language.

Possible mobile app for IOS?

Re: Beta Test / Technical

Rick...
Not likely. The issue is not technical.
It is simply (or not) a conflict between Apple's TOS and the GPL2 license, preventing the use of Apple's distribution network for GPL apps. Until or unless this changes, OCPN will not be available on IOS.

Re: Beta Test / Technical

Dave,
Did something change recently on dokuwiki?
1. Indexmenu to the left does not seem to be working, subcategories do not show. Only the 4 main books work. The menu does not drill down.
2. Access to admin dropdown is not possible because the dropdown menu does not work.
3. The editing menu which normally is available at the side is at the top of the page above content.
4. The Dokuwiki is here https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/do...pn_user_manual
5. What could have happened?

From my log file

opencpn[38203]: segfault at d0 ip 00007fc5fe100b78 sp 00007ffc00ca2310 error 4 in liboesenc_pi.so[7fc5fe03d000+116000]

Re: Beta Test / Technical

5.5 is experimental/in development so you can expect all weird experiences.

For 5.6 (i.e 5.5 stable) there will be a common plug-in for oeSENC and oeRNC and thus oeSENC will be deprecated.
Charts of course not.

MagicMoments...
For reference:
Did you use the integrated plugin manager to load oeSENC?

Thanks

Re: Beta Test / Technical

Dave, Yes I used the built in plugin loading feature and have uninstalled and reinstalled and updated the plugins as well.

Thanks
