Re: Calculator_pi New Finished Plugin for OpenCPN

Plugin binaries for Windows and Linux are filed here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/ope...calculator_pi/

You would be looking for version 1.3

Please go ahead and send me the spreadsheet. I will have a look which calcs are most useful.

Hi,

My configuration : XP SP3 , O 3.2

I have followed the link to get the calculator_win32_pi18_v13_pi.dll plugin

After starting CPN, I was unable to select the calculator plugin.

See below, the lines regarding this plugin:
21:08:13: PlugInManager: Loading PlugIn: C:\Program Files\OpenCPN\plugins/calculator_win32_pi18_v13_pi.dll
21:08:13: Error: Failed to load shared library 'C:\Program Files\OpenCPN\plugins/calculator_win32_pi18_v13_pi.dll' (error 126: le module spécifié est introuvable.)
21:08:13: PlugInManager: Cannot load library: C:\Program Files\OpenCPN\plugins/calculator_win32_pi18_v13_pi.dll

Do I forgotten to copy other file? which one ?

Thanks

Serge

Re: Calculator_pi New Finished Plugin for OpenCPN

The version on the download page, points to the download link in the post, so I would be surprised if you had a different result. You should not need another file. Try the file attached to post 42, and of this
does not work, the file attached in post #41. I have updated the file that the download page points to (should be same as post 42). Please try and let me know the result.

Re: Calculator_pi New Finished Plugin for OpenCPN

I've just replaced the DLL on Sourceforge with a rebuild which should work OK, let me know if it doesn't
@SaltyPaws
Code:
diff --git a/CMakeLists.txt b/CMakeLists.txt
index bfd5baa..1d38d95 100644
--- a/CMakeLists.txt

 IF(APPLE)
I also suspect the DLL was a debug build as the release library is some 100kB smaller...

Each tab can then be explaining a formula, showing input boxes and a calculate button for that formula. I have attached a screenshot of how the menu cool look like. Let me know what you think.
That looks very interesting. I once derived the equation for distance to horizon based on height of observer, and showed it to an islander and he claimed it was incorrect. In any case, I didn't deal with atmospheric refraction, so he was probably correct.

It would be cool if you added in support for height of object on horizon, because often there is a mountain, or ships mast or whatever.

Hey, maybe you could have a field to compute radio range, or power needed for vhf.. or possibly ssb although I think it's incredibly complicated because of how it can reflect.. but doesn't work all the time so..

Then maybe something dealing with bottom growth rate could be interesting.

Another idea, maybe if you can enter in barometric pressure readings, and wind data over time, and some other things (like temperature, geographic location) on a timeline maybe it could predict what the wind would likely do (speed and direction). I know this sounds complicated but it should be possible.

Anyway great start, and keep working on it. I'm still stuck in null pointer hell on my weather routing since the circular skip lists got kind of complicated.. but at least it runs 20 times faster than before (until it crashes)

Hi SaltyPaws,

After renaming #42 file (from doc to dll), the icon of the file was OK but no lines for this plugin appears on the logfile, it was just like if its type (format) was not a recognize one.

OK with #41.

Thanks

Sorry if I screwed up. Just tested this with Opencpn 3.2 and it is version 1.3 and works. Hope this is a help and not more confusion.

I have downloaded this version of calculator. It seem that it run but ...

There is a "BUT".

It do not use the previous french file language. The name of this french file language is : opencpn-calculator_pi.mo.

I have send the last version recently (2013-04-08).

So this is strange.

Here I join the same version.

More, there is many new items. Can you place here for translators the pot file with all new items ?

Thank by advance.
