Can’t find .ini file, XP

I know windows hides c:/program data but I have all “show hidden files” turned on, still don’t see that folder. I have searched the entire machine for o*.ini and o*.cfg, no luck. Yet I know OpenCPN is saving my preferences when I restart. Where is it saving them? The docs refer to “opencpn.ini”. I’m simply hoping to change things like the line width for predicted heading.
Thanks

Click on the "?" icon in the Toolbar. The last line on the About (first) tab is "Config file location: C:\where exactly\the\file\is".

Re: Can’t find .ini file, XP

Thanks. I know you guys must get really frustrated constantly telling newbies to RTFM. I did read it, really, but that part didn't stick I guess. I haven't yet been back to my boat to check that computer, but I'm confused as to why my extensive computer searches did not turn up an opencpn.ini file anywhere on the machine. But I'll check again later today. Thanks a million for your patience, your help is greatly appreciated.

My apologies, opencpn.ini is right where help says it is. I have no idea why the windows search function does not find it. That’ll teach me to trust Windows. Thanks again.

Ron, Windows search may not be using System files and folders. You can enable that under Windows File Management settings. Maybe View > Check Hidden Options.
