charts missing on opencpn 5.2.4

my charts are no longer showing on my Raspberry pi.......piPilot is working as well as the other plugins......

what do I need to do in order to get the charts back?

In 5.5.1115 on Ubuntu the CM93 charts do not display. They are found but no graphics are shown. Other charts seem to be OK. Rebuilding the database does not include them.

For info and comparison:
On my RPi4,Raspbian GNU/Linux 10 (buster), using 5.5.1115 both oeSENC and CM93 charts are viewed as usual.
Now it may be a difference since my installation is built from source and thus natively fitted for the actual OS?

More info:

I removed the OpenCPN build from source and instead used the 5.5.1115 installed by OpenPlotter: OpenCPN installer.
Both oeSENC and CM93 are still nicely shown.

Ubuntu 20.4 running on a Celeron CPU. Worked fine till the latest uprev.

I don't know how to rebuild the charts. The GPS is showing an acceptable Signal K going to OpenCPN.......and the world map background is there......but there are no nav charts available. How do I fix this?

If there are issues you can scan through the OCPN log file ("About", the "?" button)

I have determined that I have various chart plugins.....how do I access the plugins?

I can now see the list of plugins that have been installed, and I've tried to open any plugin starting with "charts"......still can't get the charts displayed

Which charts do you want to install?
- US ENC?
Running those do not require any plug-in.


If you want help to install them, then you can use theChartDowloaderPlugin --> Options|Charts|ChartDownloader

Update: Upgraded to 5.5.1116 today (Ubuntu update) but no change. I notice in Options > Charts > Vector Chart Display, everything under "User Standard Objects" is greyed out. Might be a clue?

Are you using OpenGL?
If so, please try with OpenGL turned off.
Settings->Display->Advanced.
