Could you try checking every single check box in the cyclones tab, and selecting all months, and possibly then change min windspeed to 30 or even less. You should see a lot of cyclones.

I have the same two small tracks with those settings.

December isn't a big month in south pacific, and trying to find cases of 60 knots or more there are not a lot.

Okay, thought I had it on All. I did cycle through but will do it again, on ALL.
In MSVC, will try release version too, put Clim on all and checked and unchecked all boxes, turned all on, etc., no other cyclones seen, its not reading them I guess, did you see the log file I sent where two of the files were not read or were not good in some way? I willl post this log file again below. Then there was a break.

In Windows git environment Just tried git pull from the climatology_pi directory and got new code changes... this is really nice. Will compile now.

Done Git Pull from Climatology_pi diirectory (downloaded changes) and compiled in Windows.

In MSVC Debug, Climatology TABS have reverted back so we cannot get to Wind, Cyclone and About, the Standard Tab seems to dominate. I cannot exercise Cyclone checks, but when I set Months to All, I get only some cyclones over by Aus.

In Windows Release, Opencpn v3.3.424 Climatology_pi TABS have reverted back so Standard Tab dominates. I don't see any cyclones even though month is set to ALL.

In both MSVC and Release the isobars are working much better.

Cut down INI and LOG files below. Found no external setttings for Cyclones here. Was going to try changing those or check them out.

In Linux Ubuntu 12.04 "already up to date"
Climatology TABS work fine, html shows, Cyclones checked in display, Months set to "ALL", in configure window, checking Cyclone checkboxes, all seems to work, fine. All Cyclones display and can be properly controlled!

Checking SeaTemp and SeaDepth Isobars, those work great and very reliably, with progress bar popping up when there are lots of contours, with a "Cancel" button. Clicking cancel works, stops Isobar routine and unchecks Config isobar. Double, triple and quad quick clicks of Config Isobar Spacing UP and Down buttons does not stop Isobar routine, it finishes the job and then starts the next one. Very good.

Thank you Chuck! I am sure Sean will also appreciate it. How do you come up with these fixes? Sean had the right idea because he disabled the Html first, but that did not seem to do it. Then he reordered the tabs and possibly did other things.

I think he's probably getting pretty tired of screwing with making Windows work with this plugin, I certainly know I am!

Now the last thing that I know of to get fixed is getting all the Cyclones visible and able to be toggled on and off, which would not be too bad to just kick down the road, but it is certainly impressive and informs regarding routes and timing.

I hope Sean has not given up and can get cyclones working. Now I can donate to his "next leg fund" in the About Tab of Climatology. He certainly deserves it... and needs it!

ChuckSK, and Sean tonight I tried your suggestion, to add event.Skip(); to the end of climatologyconfigdialogue.cpp line 356 or so.

Then Git checkout rick (my own local branch)
Git pull (it pulled origin master) and
then went into plugins/climatology_pi directory and did Git pull.
Then went to MSVC and rebuilt the Debug version copied the build/plugins/climatology_pi/debug/climatology_pi.dll back out two directories into build/plugins/climatology_pi.dll
Then used MSVC and Started Debug.
The change worked to get the TABS showing again.
I then tried a rebuilt release version in Opencpn v3.3.424 and it did not work at all. The icon did not appear and it was not in setttings/plugins eithet. The problem is the plugin is not finding the data when it is installed as a regular plugin. (see Log) I've tried shutting down Opencpn, disabling the plugin in the INI and restarting Opencpn and it still does not appear. I've tried putting climate data in an opencpn/build/plugins/climate/data directory because that is where it is stored in MSVC, that did not work.

Then I tried compling Debug and Release MSVC Climatology again after shutdown and rebboot of the computer. In Debug mode I noticed something that I had seen before.... After I use Climatology, I can no longer go into settings and "Disable" it. In fact I can click on "Disable" and nothing seems to happen, but actually something did happen, because the program freezes and I have to shutdown MSVC by using Task Manager and shutdown sometimes. Then if I just restart MSVC and try Climatology it works ok, but then go back to settings/plugins and try togglling disable /enable on all plugins except climatology ---they work, but climatology is enabled, so I hit "disable" and nothing happens, things freeze. I wait, finally I can dismiss Settings Panel by hitting X upper left.

Oh yes, after starting Climatology fresh restart of MSVC (and generally) it rebuilds the database ok, but then disappears for a long time after it is finished the progress bar. Often I have to click on the view area to get the climatology menu to appear. I have not been able to see if it has this behavoir in release version, because that version does not run. See thee log files.

Cyclones are stilll missing and I think it is maybe a path problem or maybe the data for those change somehow when they are brought onto the windows side (line feeds and carrage return issue perhaps?)

I wish I could get closer to the problem but those are the symptoms.

ChuckSK do you use Windows? MSVC? or is it Linux? Do you have it working in Windows Release?

Maybe I should replace opencpn.exe 3.3.424 with the 3.3.604 version?

I was trying to reduce the unknowns because 3.3.424 was pretty stable.
Is this due to error reporting?
Do I need other files other than opencpn.exe from MSVC release?

Ok, that fixed it.
Needed to copy MSVC Opencpn-git/Build/Release files into the Program Files(x86)/Opencpn directory.

With ChuckSK's change everything works except Cyclones, which is a mystery. We have cyclones showing near Austrailia for Jan Feb March and Dec., but not any of the other ones (many cyclones!!!).

Is the data not being read or is there some null or end of line feed error or something that Windows expects that Linux does not?

Why is the Aus data showing, but not any other data?
Maybe someone has a clue?

I will upload the DLL and associate files now. I consider this plugiin 95% complete. I think Sean has gone sailing and so am I soon.

Compiled current as of June 10,2013.
Opencpn Beta Login - Plugins - rguser, rgpass.
Pick "Climate-Data-5" directory for the necessary data, and
Pick "Plugins-Beta-Opencpn-3.3.605" for the necessary files
1. Climatology_pi-newest.dll is most recent.
2. Download CL-DATA-5.zip (6.9mb) OR all the individual files and copy uncompressed to opencpn/plugins/cliimatology/data/ directory. There should be 42 files, including the zipped file.
3. Then download the files in Plugins-Beta-Opencpn-3.3.604 and copy them into your Program Files(x86)/opencpn directory
4. Copy the climatology dll into the opencpn/plugins directory.

See the directory labels with the plugins associated. Old plugins generally will run with newer Ocpn versions.

Also updated today, Sean's other plugin Watchman with a Test Alarm button in Settings >Plugins > Watchman > Preferences and some other changes. Look in Opencpn-3.3 folder, dated 6/13/13.

On 6/10 Celestial_Navigation, Weatherfax, Weather_Routing, and Rtlsdr were updated.

There have been some improvements to Watchman, Rtlsdr and to a lesser degree the others.

If I try to use climatology_pi-newest.dll it isn't visible in plugin tab. Only if I use climatology_win32_p19_v02_pi.dll file it can be seen there.

Go to the Plugins-Beta-Opencpn-3.3.604 directory and use those files. You will need all files (includiing opencpn.exe -version3.3.604, and the crash*.* and dbug*.dll) also put the climatology_win32_p19_v02_pi.dll that is in this directory, under plugins dir.

give me 1/2 hour to upload please. Should Linux version be changed?
One thing I notice is that this version v02-4 with the "r" added in code, has very high CPU use and the hard disk runs a lot and I am wondering if there is another better solution for slower computers.
