Hi together,

in order to help optimizing the installation instructions, both on sourceforge and in the user manual. For installation the data in linux you write in the command:
sudo mkdir -p /usr/share/opencpn/climatology/data
correct it needs to be:
sudo mkdir -p /usr/share/opencpn/plugins/climatology/data

The folder plugin is missing in the linux command.

Climatology Current data has been updated and improved to include the averages of years 1992-2012, rather than just one year.
Download either of these files and replace the 12 "current" files in your "../plugin/climatology/data"

CL-Currents-1992-2012.zip
CL-Currents-1992-2012-Uncompressed.7z

Alternatively download the individual files in the Climate-Data5 directory.
All the Current01.gz through Current12.gz filles in Climate-Data5

The new "current" files are located here:

Windows users these current data files should be compatible with your Climatology_pi.dll, same for Linux.

Linux users please note that the current Weather_routing plugin has not been enabled to run Climatology, this is intended. Windows users please note that the next version of Weather_routing may disable use of Climatology for Planning routes, to conform with the author's intentions.

Pavel, I think the Climate Data files on Sourceforge should be updated to conform please.

Hi guys
I have installed the plug in and data but when I try and use it i get a message saying I have incomplete data. Especially el nino years. I have spent hours trying to figure it out but have had no joy. please help.

Sean has updated Climatology to be faster and more efficient. Please take the *.doc off the attached file. This was compiled with MSVC++ using Opencpn Beta 3.3.1303 so it may require that version, but if it does not, I would be very interested.

Please give it a spin, of course do not forget about the requirement that you download and properly install the "climatology/data" directory. See Opencpn Beta File Thingie installation for previous climatology_pi.dll's for details.

The main improvements are related to cyclones.. faster loading and rendering, as well as showing the direction the storm is traveling. Please confirm there are no issues.

Hi,

I've downloaded climatology plugin from post #218 and after I put it in OpenCPN directory it disappeared from my OpenCPN 1303. Previous version works fine.

Kubek, that's strange, would you try it again, please? If you keep both old and newer in plugins directory, you'll have both show up in options > plugins.

Kubek, I figured it out. You misspelled the file name change removing the doc.

It will be so ease, I've always removed ".doc" extension for "dll's" downloaded from OpenCPN forum. I tried it few times. If I have both climatology plugin only old one is visible in OpenCPN. I try it also on second laptop and I have the same result. It also doesn't matter that I use 3.3.1303 or 3.2.2.

Hi,

Old version "climatology_win32_pi19_v03_ov320_pi.dll" works BUT new one "climatology_win32_pi19_v050_ov3313_pi .dll" doesn't at all. I couldn't see newest climatology in plugin tab. So I cannot enable it.

But during writing this message I realized that in name of new plugin was one extra space character between "...pi" and ".dll" I removed it and now it works!

Sorry for that it is my fault.
